چکیده

This article aims to explore the importance of multimethod research in assessing performance nickel-titanium (NiTi) endodontic instruments. The review highlights limitations relying solely on measurements obtained through a narrow set mechanical tests and acknowledges challenge replicating real-world working conditions controlled laboratory settings. While achieving perfect simulation may be difficult, focus should developing strategies that provide superior understanding outcomes. research, which combines qualitative quantitative methodologies, offers promising solution address this effectively. By integrating nonquantifiable data with measurements, researchers overcome individual methodologies gain deeper more comprehensive insights into instrument performance. approach enables accurate interpretation results, enhancing validity methodology. Therefore, conducting analysis various competencies displayed by NiTi systems is essential for their characteristics, including cyclic fatigue, torsional bending resistance, cutting efficiency, microhardness, design analysis, element composition, phase transformation temperatures, shaping ability, additional can specific inquiries. combining approach, enhance ability answer questions valuable clinical practice.

A cleaning protocol for rotary nickel-titanium endodontic instruments.

BACKGROUND The cleaning of endodontic and all dental instruments prior to sterilization is a prerequisite for their processing for re-use. This study aimed to develop a clinically practical cleaning protocol for rotary nickel-titanium (NiTi) endodontic files prior to sterilization. METHODS Cleaning experiments were conducted on six different types of files that had been used on human teeth. T...

Cyclic fatigue testing of nickel-titanium endodontic instruments.

Cyclic fatigue of nickel-titanium, engine-driven instruments was studied by determining the effect of canal curvature and operating speed on the breakage of Lightspeed instruments. A new method of canal curvature evaluation that addressed both angle and abruptness of curvature was introduced. Canal curvature was simulated by constructing six curved stainless-steel guide tubes with angles of cur...

Effect of cryogenic treatment on nickel-titanium endodontic instruments.

AIM To investigate the effects of cryogenic treatment on nickel-titanium endodontic instruments. The null hypothesis was that cryogenic treatment would result in no changes in composition, microhardness or cutting efficiency of nickel-titanium instruments. METHODOLOGY Microhardness was measured on 30 nickel-titanium K-files (ISO size 25) using a Vicker's indenter. Elemental composition was me...

Mechanical behaviour of nickel-titanium rotary endodontic instruments in simulated clinical conditions: a computational study.

AIM To develop an accurate finite element (FE) model for studying rotary endodontic instruments and to demonstrate the usefulness of the FE method in improving the knowledge of the mechanical behaviour of these instruments during root canal preparation. METHODOLOGY An accurate geometrical model of a Ni-Ti ProTaper F1 instrument was created. The interaction between the rotating instrument and ...
